ER

well, last night was kind of scary. I noticed a few bumps on my arm that looked like spider bits, but they were a lot bigger and ouch-ier than i ever remembered a spider bite being. then the next time i looked i could clearly tell that i had broken out in hives or welts all over my arm and my eves, and i itched every where. i went to take a bath hoping that it would help the itching. but then i noticed that my throat was getting really really tight. I monitored my breathing an throat for a couple more minutes, and  it was getting a lot worse. so we went to the ER, and got me on an IV. it got to the point that i could barely breath. the thing that scares me now is that i have NO IDEA what i am allergic to.

Trixs cereal, some peppermint bark, a piece of a chocolate orange, a refried bean and cheese burrito, and that's IT!!!
I was wondering if any one has had an allergic reaction to switching birth controls?
or from being on Paxil?
leave me a comment if you have any ideas. i cannot go to an allergist wile i am on the medication they gave me to get better. i am just afraid to eat anything!!!

TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY and Kimmy's Birthday!

        Well we have made it two years! I can't believe it has really been that long! So we are celebrating by going to Cheesecake Factory and seeing TRON tomorrow, so tonight we decided to make our FIRST HOME MADE GINGERBREAD HOUSE. keep in mind that the stores were all out of the kits, so i made gingerbread cookies and rolled them out to make the walls. it was a fin little adventure!

A Turkey DISASTER!!!

This thanksgiving was our first thanksgiving on our own as a married couple. We decided to stay at our home and cook a dinner for another couple. I got up early cleaned the house, and then started in on the food. For the turkey because we were not having many people over I just got a turkey breast. So I go to put the turkey in and, well I have never cooked a turkey on my own. So I just put the turkey on a baking sheet and stuffed it in the oven. I put a meat thermometer in because all the places said once it reached 180 then it would be done, and it would take about 2 to 3 hours.  So I just let it cook and prepared everything else.  I made some amazing sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole rolls and cherry pastries. But when I went to go check on the turkey around 2 hours it looked done, it was the right temperature and everything and it looked pretty good! So we took it out and let it cool. I called my mom to ask her how to make gravy and she told me to take the drippings from the turkey. Problem ONE: there were NO drippings. The pan was completely DRY. Problem TWO: when the turkey had cooled about 15 minutes before we went to serve it, we started carving it. The turkey was SO not cooked, it looked like it had just defrosted and had never been cooked!! So what do we do? We are fifteen minutes from eating and our turkey isn’t done. We could put it back in the oven but at that rate it would take about 2 more hours! So we decided to start a new tradition. In out fridge we had a tri-tip steak from Costco, so we decided to just make that! It was awesome and only took 45 minutes. So our disaster turned out ok! Our new tradition is going to be shrimp (that is from Patrick’s family) and steak. I think I am going to like this tradition; I never really liked turkey dinners anyway! So it turned out to be a great Thanksgiving. We at yummy food, and watched the Cowboys put up a good fight! I am so excited for the holidays to come. Patrick and I are celebrating our second anniversary on the Second. We are going to be putting up our first REAL Christmas tree, and hoping our cats don’t destroy it within the first night! AND we got all of our Christmas shopping done online during Black Friday!! Finals are three weeks away and then we get a blessed vacation! Only two more semesters to go before I graduate! I cannot wait! Hope you had a good turkey day, I would ask advice to let me know what I did wrong with the turkey, but seeing as we are axing it from the menu, I will just let Pat be in charge of the Steak form now on! I’ll do the sides and dessert!

The Game of LIFE

 Well the past couple of weeks have been well, interesting. I had a visit to the Urgent Care that kept me out of LIFE for about 3 weeks. And let me tell ya, missing that much of LIFE things start to build up!

Well now on to what has been happening in our life... school... work... church.... and the occasional date. Patrick and I have decided we need to spend more time just us together. SO we have decided to take a nature walk each week. BUT since we really need to get some excercise in any way, we decided to hike the Y until it gets too cold to! Our first Hike I got some pictures in. That hike was a lot harder than I expected. The next weeked we did a night hike Saturday after Pat got off work. It was really peaceful, and it helped that I could walk more than just one switchback without taking a break, like the first time. It is only a mile and a half hike but you climb up in elevation very quickly, at times it's hard to get a full breath! When we get to the top we have our picnic we packed. And just enjoy the peacefulness, and look at the stars! It  has been great! One of the best dates ever, maybe it's the company I shared it with! I think we are going to have to keep this tradition. so much fun!

Let's hope this doesn't happen this year!

The "favorite" game

So I realized that I have never played the "favorites" game with Patrick So here are the findings of the first game

Stalkers!!

Ok so apparently I have a few stalkers... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE :) Anyway I keep getting asked if I have updated my blog. i keep answering "no... My life is boring you don't want to read that".... apparently they do. So I am going to try to write more, but I am telling you now there are going to be some random posts I am sure!

OK so lets see...

I am reading a book series called

FABLEHAVEN

I don't know what it is with me but if I am just looking for a nice relaxing read more often than not I head to the children's section... hahah Patrick says it's because i act and think like a kid! :)

I really like it! It is kind of like Harry potter in the sense that it is easy to read and enjoyable. Now don't get me wrong I like to read "grown-up" books, but I am DRAWN to the children's books! I just love to read. my dream is to have the Beauty and the Beast library FULL of books... ones that I have read before, and many, many that I have not. I think i have a problem, maybe I should go talk to someone!??!?!?

Well update on the kittys. Someone called the owners and told them that we were feeding the cats, so they called us and told us to stop. and they set out traps.

right now there is a little kitten in the trap (not one of out kittys, I am not sure where he came from) and he is just terrified. He has been there for a WHOLE day, so we brought him out some food. but he is a good looking cat, so he should get picked up from the pound. it makes me want to cry seeing him out there (but I am a girl, what doesn't make me cry ...right)

Well I got a new calling a church i am in the PRIMARY again... but since we are in a newly married ward it is pretty much nursery so we play with the kids and toys, then we have snack time, and a lesson if the kids are into it... if not nap time! What more could i ask for, toys snacks, and naps!! I think me and the kids are going to get along just fine!

School is ALMOST over.. I cant wait for the 3 week break!

Well there ya go... I told you my life was boring!

We just got home from Church and we are eating our Mac and Cheese with the roast in the Crockpot. ready to take a nap and then do homework for the rest of the night.. ugg homework!

last night when we were feeding the cats on the porch one of our neighbors was getting out of their car and started hissing trying to scare the cats off... ok whatever.... BUT THEN he threw a pretty big rock at the cats, it was like 2 inches from hitting me. I yelled "hey" really loudly and the guy ran into his house... i mean COME ON. They aren't hurting you are they? They are just little kittys, respect the kittens!!! (or at least me .. i don't wanna get hit by a rock either!!)

LIFE

Life is busy, we have one week left in school, and then finals week. This semester has been by far harder than almost any other semester I have done in a long time! 10 days and then we finally get a break, GLORIOUS DAY! I cannot wait! We have been very busy working overtime each week, and trying to keep up with school, weddings, and a nasty flu! We got to see Patrick's Dad last week, that was so nice, we have really missed the Hinckleys, but thankfully he will be back up here in a couple of weeks to do BYU's Education week... I have awesome In-laws!

So here is some Good news From Then Past couple of weeks

-Patrick got a RAISE

he is now a Lead Teller 30 hours! So happy for him

- I got my Level 4 for work!

$5000.00 check level, oh I am just SO excited for this... no more getting every single check approved if it is over $2000!! (and i get a tiny raise :))

-umm haven't quit school yet, and I have wanted to about every day!

- Kimberly is letting us borrow her car. i love her, and her car!

- Both of my sister in laws had beautiful baby girls, and they are healthy and happy. Only one more to go!!

- I am REALLY going to try to get into Business school... calculus might kill me next semester, but I am going to try

Well i can't think of much else, we are going well extremely busy, and cannot wait until this semester is over. I think we are going to plan a trip down to St. George, or just spend every single day off at the pool!! SO EXCITED!

Work is going well, life is... going.

BABY!... (no, not that kind)

We want a little kitty or puppy SO bad, but our apartment doesn't allow them. It's so sad, i want a little cuddle buddy... since we don't have a child of our own yet, and aren't planning on it for a while, i feel like there is a void in my cuddle-lovin! So the other night, Patrick went to take out the trash, and when he got close to the dumpster, the shadow moved... and answer to our prayer ( not really) it was a little kitten. he and his 2 brothers were scrounging for food. We named him.... I know that's bad, and one day he just won't show up, but for now.... he is our Midnight. We sat out by the dumpsters on a curb and fed them tuna fish. We have been slowly trying to coax them into liking us, and trusting us. Patrick is such a natural at it. I swear if he was reincarnated he would be a cat! He is so patient with them, he watches them like a father, making sure that all of them get some food. They are our little surrogate children for now. Patrick is going to be such a good dad! I can't wait till we have a baby of our own! The other night we were making pizza, and well, I need to clean out the oven apparently because something was burning and filled the house with smoke. So we hurriedly opened the front and back door to try to get the smoke out before the alarm went off. after about 4 minutes, I went to shut the front door, and Midnight had walked all the way to our door and was just kinda looking in... that's a long way for a kitty. He must have been really hungry, because he never ventures out from the shadows. We fed him. After he ate he ran away, but changed his mind halfway through. It was like he knows he should run, but he wasn't sure why, because we have never hurt or scared him before. He ended up crossing the parking lot and hiding in the safety of the shadows and just watched us. I want him! he is so cute and small. Oh, sigh. One day!

So Midnight is now our little baby, maybe he will trust us enough to let us pet him?!?!

Can't wait for the Fourth of July Weekend! I will mainly be studying for a math test and doing an ISys project, but at least no school or work... and FIREWORKS!! YAY! I can't wait.. maybe we will do a little grillin too!!

Well, Spring Semester finally ended!! And can I tell ya, WOW finals weeks was LONG. I had to do a group project for my History final, which of course I did practically all by myself because I actually CARE about my grade! lets just say by the end of the week I was so stressed out, and had not slept enough that my left foot twitched constantly for about 3 days... which didn't help the whole sleeping thing! But we ended the semester pretty well; Pat got all A's and I got an A in guitar, a B+ in History and a B in New Testament. I am so glad we did well this semester

So I started the Pre-requisites for the English program, and WOW did I have an experience. So, I like English...but I don't think I want to do it as a profession! So I decided to switch things up a bit. I decided to just go for it... I am going to try to get into the Business school here at BYU, I will be taking other classes that count toward a major, as a back up plan- just in case!

But for now I am working on the classes I need to get into the school. I think I CAN do well, as long as I actually TRY! (what a concept... right?) So this semester I am taking Algebra, reviewing for Calculus next semester, and I am taking an Isys class with Pat. It's fun to be in the same class, except his style of learning is a bit different than mine. He likes to comment A LOT about things... and now that i am sitting next to him he decides to share these wonderful tidbits of information with me. I don't mind, except i lose track of what the teacher is saying... great! But I really like the class so far. Who knows maybe I will go into Isys?!?!?

So today I took my first Algebra test... got a 100% on it woooo hoooo!!!! Never in my LIFE have I gotten a 100% on a math test, I am pretty excited!!!!

maybe just maybe I could do this! it will take a lot more time to complete my college career, but if i actually come out of it with something I like, and am good at, it will be worth it. I keep telling myself it's better to try and fail, than to not try at all!!!

~~SUMMER~~

So today after work I went to the pool for the first time!! Summer is officially stared! I LOVE the summer! I am going to spend ANY extra time this summer at the pool!! I just have to find that extra time because I will still be working and going to school!

OH and guess what?!?!?! I got a B+ on my History Midterm! YAY Being married really helps the grades because you become a loser and never go out! :)

So we decided to get rid of our cable it is so LAME that Utah doesn't have Verizon FIOS yet, because we LOVED that. But we were NOT impressed with DISH at all!! So we decided to try out Netflicks. it streams right into our XBOX and it has been awesome! We get the DVDs in the mail, but we also have instant movies and TV shows streaming, so I can watch pretty much anything I want! YAY

Patrick's favorite part of this is that in order for it to go through our XBOX we had to get XBOX live... so he is playing HALO online with all the rest of the nerds! :)

Well, anyway I am sick today... have been for about a week, the stomach flu is a killer! But so today I have been sleeping, watching movies and doing laundry. Well, maybe DOING laundry is not the right word, I have been switching the laundry... folding is a different story!

So it's raining today. usually this doesn't bother my- i actually like the rain... but I got dressed cute today and now I have to go trudging outside on campus. Oh well! i took my History midterm.(just finishes, now i'm sitting in the library trying to avoid doing homework) I hope I did OK, I'm nervous. I think I have done well on all my essays though, so hopefully it will even out!

Tonight is the last REAL episode of LOST and then the season finale... gasp what am i going to do with myself?

My Bad

OK, so I'm not very good at keeping this thing up, but I think MAYBE 2 people read it so, I don't feel THAT bad!

So school started! I am so happy that we are finally getting back to school. I have about a year and a half left, so hopefully I will graduate Fall 2011. I can't wait. I am going to study English, and eventually i would like to teach High School English. but we will see. All I've got to say is that WOW Spring and Summer semesters are SHORT. I swear all I have been doing since I started was homework. I have my MIDTERM on Tuesday. It's pretty crazy! but I am enjoying this semester. For fun i am taking a guitar class, I really like it, so I might keep pursing it!

So I got a new job! I was working up at American Fork which is a good 25-30 min drive from here. So I have been looking to get a position a little closer, and I finally did! YAY! it is about 4 min away, and I am bumping up my hours. So for the next couple of months I am going to be pretty busy working full time and going to school, so wish me luck!

this is a post form mother's day that I never got around to posting, so enjoy!

This Mother's was was really fun, since I am not a mom yet it is a little different how we celebrate. We pretty much just had dinner with friends and family! It was so much fun, I love Sundays- the rest of the weeks is so hectic you really don't have any time to see anyone,so Sunday is really the only day we can all get together. Ever since we have moved to Utah we have stared the Traditional Sunday Movie Night. We just have everyone over I make treats, and people bring treats and we just hang out and watch movies. It is probably one of the things I look forward to(except for LOST,... but I will get to that later!)

So this week we had dinner and then watched...

TRON

oh wow, wow... I don't recommend this unless you have 2 hours of PURE boredom because well WOW is all I can say. We watched it because they are making a sequel. All I got to say is I really hope it is better than the first on because... wow

OK I cannot wait for the Series Finale of LOST oh its gonna be awesome!

Spring is HERE!

Oh, it is so beautiful here. After a big rain everything is green and budding. I love the spring, it means that Summer is almost here!

So here is a little update on what is happening in our lives.

Patrick and I started school! Yay finally. I am majoring in English and should be done in about a year... maybe a little longer we will see. So this semester I am taking a guitar class! I am so excited Ihave always wanted to learn the guitar, and now I am. I am also starting up the violin again. I figued that that was not something i wanted to loose. So I am going to be practicing on my own for now, then i start classes up again next semester.And I think I will start playing in the orchestra again, I was thinking of maybe minoring in music.... but again we will just have to see!!

So Michael's big day is coming up! Just ONE month away! Oh, I guess I haven blogged about this.

Michael is ENGAGED! They are getting married on may 29th! He is going to marry a freaking AWESOME girl! It is so great, since half of the family lives in Utah, we have really gotten to know her well, and she fits just perfect to our family! The other nigh Pat and Michael went to go play basketball, so we just hung out and watched Pride and Prejudice. Kim came over and it was the perfect girls night!

So a couple of weeks ago, Aubrey had her Bridal shower at a cute little dessert boutique called The Chocolate. It was so much fun!

DADDY Came to VISIT!!!!

It has been so long since I have seen my dad. It has been almost a whole year. Last summer I went home to visit for a week, but Dallas is a lot further than Provo. So now we are close enough to see my parents more often! Although we do miss Mom and Dad Hinckley.

Dad was down here for bussiness, but he had time to come and hang out with us! it was so much fun we went to olive garden, and the next night i made dinner and the whole family just hung out. it was nicce. like being back home.

It has been so nice being here, and getting to make our own little home! I can't wait for all the new adventures we will have!

One Year Older... Maybe wiser too?

Well, one cool thing about Patrick and me, is that we have the pleasure of sharing a birthday!

Patrick is exactly two years older than I.

This has posed a little bit of a problem. See, I like my birthdays. I like them a lot.

For about a whole month before, in between, and after, life is about ME. Its not a birthday for me...its a BirthMONTH!

But now I have to share my Birthday... with my husband.... I am not quite sure how I feel about it. So we decided to switch off on who the "birthday boy/girl" is. Our fist birthday together it was MY birthday, so Patrick planned it all out and I didn't have to do anything. So not much different from a normal birthday. BUT this year it was his turn. It killed my birthday buzz, now I couldn't just sit back and enjoy my birthday... I had to plan HIS! You can see my predicament. Well, thankfully we are broke so it really didn't make a difference if it was "my" birthday or his.

I had to work on my birthday, kind of scary, It was my first day at a branch... time to put all my training into work. But it was good, and I actually did pretty good at my job!

Then we went home got ready for the evening and went to Red Lobster. It was fun I got some yummy halibut, and Pat got a Sampler dish... the only thing was he got Crab. Like the whole crab on your plate. he went to town on that poor little crab and i about got sick. See I am not really a fish person. I don't like to be able to see what it was that I am eating. So Patrick is just LOVING his time. taking the crab lags and crushing them and pulling out the meat. Once he was done with his first leg he looked up to see my horrified face, and laughed, and of course finished his meal. I lost my appetite a little bit. He was having WAY too much fun ripping that crab apart.

Later that week we went to go see Avatar. OH MY... wow I absolutely LOVED it. We went to go see it in 2-D because Patrick gets bad motion sick. So we didn't want to get sick with the 3-D. But after seeing it we are DEFINITELY going to see it again, but this time in 3-D. It makes me wish I could live in the rain forest!

So I would have to say that OUR birthday was a success. I have my new job as a teller at the Credit Union.I love learning about everything there. It's nice to have a job that you actually enjoy!

Well, I have the WONDERFUL opportunity to be one of those lucky people living in here that has church at 8:30 in the morning so it's bed time!

When we decided to drop out of school and move to Texas without jobs... we knew it was right.

When we decided to move BACK to Utah with no place to live and a one part time job, we knew it was right.

We lived in a hotel for a week in Utah, but then found an amazing place, it worked out perfectly.

We were not accepted into BYU, and I did not have a job. We hoped that I would get a job at the Credit Union Pat works for. But for 2 long months, things were up in the air. It was really stressful, but we knew that we moved out here for a reason. Just as I was starting to lose hope, everything started to fall into place.

I got a call from America First to come in and Interview, then we got an e-mail from BYU...

Everything worked out. We BOTH got back into BYU. I got a job at America First working in the American Fork Branch! AND we qualify for federal aid.

Even when things seem bleak and you have no idea how it will workout. I firmly believe that if you follow the spirit everything will work out!!

So, Patrick and I will be going to school in the Spring, and both working part time. Funny, we actually have the SAME job, just at different locations!

Valentines Day

For Valentines Day, Patrick and I decided to have a stay at home date. So we got our fondue out and had a three course fondue meal and watched a movie. It was really nice to just be with each other. The more time I spend with him,the more I fall in love with him.

Here is our cheese fondue with pumpernickle bread, apples and baguetts. SO yummy!

Our main meal was beef, chicken, and shrimp with dipping sauce

Dessert Chocolate fondue with all the yummy fixin's- I LOVED the cinnamon bears!

Thank you Sierra for the fondue!! Ever since Patrick "fondued" me on our first date, It has become a tradition of ours!!

I need a job, BAD. I have officially applied to about 115 jobs, and still haven't had any luck. It is getting ridiculous ! If you know of anyone hiring in Provo Utah LET ME KNOW!!!!

Macaroni Grill

If you want a nice dinner out, but would rather not spend $30 on a dinner, Make this Chicken Tetrazzini, It is the same quality as anything you would get at a restaurant, and it makes enough for about 6 people. Wonderful dinner!!!

SuperBowl Party!

Well, the Colts didn't win, But we still had FUN!

We made some amazingly good hamburgers, and Muddy buddies (puppy chow). And everyone else brought something, Guacamole, chips, and salad. It's a good thing we had a lot of food because we had about 15 people over!

YAY Patrick is SO happy that Alex and Tara came... and brought some YUMMMMY Guacamole!

Patrick was out in the back grillin' and I was of course in charge of the dessert- MUDDY BUDDIES!!!

All in all, it was a great day. And to top it off we got 5 GALLONS of Blue Bell in out freezer!!! YUMMY!
